Highway 65 Expansion

The Minnesota Department of Transportation proposed to upgrade and expand Trunk Highway 65 in Isanti County, Minnesota. Since the project received FHWA funding, compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act was required.

The Phase I/II architectural history investigation consisted of archival research and the identification of historical resources within the project’s Area of Potential Effects. The final report provided historical contexts for the project area, inventory forms for 59 surveyed properties, and recommendations for each property’s eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
