Lowry Avenue Bridge

The 5-span Lowry Avenue through truss bridge (MnDOT Bridge 2723; MHPR HE-MPC-8351) was built in 1958 on the upgraded piers of an earlier bridge. By the 2000s, riverbed scouring had resulted in the shifting of the piers, leading to the replacement of the bridge’s roller bearing nests. It was decided to close the 1958 spans in 2008. Large format photographic documentation to Level I of the Minnesota Historic Property Record (MHPR) was performed for The 106 Group, Ltd. before the bridge was demolished the following year.
