Bunge Grain Elevator

The reinforced concrete portions of the Bunge Midway grain elevator (MHPR HE-MPC-7802) were constructed in 1935 and 1936. They constituted a significant expansion of elevator capacity in Minneapolis, making the city the largest grain storage and handling facility in North America. For this reason, the Bunge Midway grain elevator was recommended historically significant under NRHP Criterion A in the area of commerce. The elevator operated until 2003, when plans were redevelopment as housing were considered. Large format photographic documentation for the Minnesota Historic Property Record (MHPR) was performed for The 106 Group, Ltd.
